SDTRAC: South Dakota Transportation And Civil Engineering Program

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The South Dakota Department of Transportation has recently developed a South Dakota TRAC Program.  TRAC (Transportation and Civil Engineering) is an educational outreach program offered through the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The program is intended for use in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) classes.  The hands-on activities introduce students to the work world of transportation and civil engineering in hopes of inspiring students to consider  a career in transportation. The DOT works with schools by providing national standard aligned curricula and resources to teachers.  The DOT coordinates visits to the classroom by engineers who can to serve as speakers, assist in hands-on activity, and/or talk to students about the importance of math and science in preparing for their future.

There is more program information at the SDDOT TRAC website (http://trac.sddot.com/) for teachers or anyone wanting more information about the program.
