Genetic Barcoding - Using DNA to Determine Species

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Participants will go through a cooking-show style demonstration and explanation of a hands-on lab experience to use in the classroom with students.  Genetic barcoding uses PCR and DNA electrophoresis to identify specific genetic markers to identify a tissue sample.  Participants will learn the technique and have access to the technology for use in the classroom next year through the equipment lending library.
